Resolved Question: Seniors ladies, did you find actors Paul Henreid and Charles Boyer attractive?
Paul Henreid played Victor Lazlo in Casablanca, and also played opposite Bette Davis in Now Voyager. Charles Boyer was the sensual star of Algiers and Gaslight, among other films. In my opinion these two were the most romantic actors ever. I have never read anything negative about either man, and your opinion will be appreciated. I still adore to watch their old movies.

Resolved Question: Isnt it disgusting that Mumbai is considered the 7th dirtiest city in the world.?
This is amazing. Well, no consolation, since every Indian cities are dirty, be it Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, or any other. For comparison, I am giving a list of few cities in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. 1. Lahore 2. Karachi 3. Jakarta 4. Tehran 5. Kuala Lampur 6. Riyadh 7. Johannesburg 8. Durban 9. Nairobi 10. Harare 11. Cairo 12. Algiers. 13. Abuja 14. Beunos Aires 15. Sao Paolo 16. Santiago 17. Bogota 18. Rio de Generio 19. Ascucion.; some war-torn cities like Baghdad, Jerusalem and Mogadishu. some cities with big percentage of Indians like Mauritius, Dubai, Fiji. There may be many more, but that only says that more than one of these cities in these "Third World Countries" are cleaner than Mumbai (or any Indian city). Could somebody share his/her opinion about this topic, especially those who have travelled around the world, including the third world countries. Say, any city in a third world country, which is clean, very clean.

Resolved Question: What else not to miss in New Orleans?
Since arriving a few days ago, we have attended one day of Jazz fest, eaten at Cafe Du Monde, shopped the French Market, walked through the French Quarter, walked along Frenchman road, gone to Bourbon road at night, taken a haunted Garden District Tour, seen the Lafayette Cemetery, eaten at Commander's Palace, ridden the St. Charles road car, taken the ferry to Algiers Point and back (my husband sat in on soprano sax for an open mic night at Old Point bar), had a tarot card reading in Jackson Square. Any other suggestions on things we shouldn't miss out on while we're here? we'll be at Jazz Fest Thursday and Saturday and we leave Sunday morning.

Voting Question: was this a one night stand type of thing?
I did finally hook up with my police officer pal who is now a detective. Anyway, we hooked up today. I made sure he knew that I went out of my way to look him. So, we did the sx thing. Both of us were relaxed after, too. comfortable around each other. We said our good byes and he kissed me. I sent him a text later saying something like..."i'll have some sweet sweet dreams now and that he was a stud and dam fine." I didn't hear back from him. So, do i assume that the sx was okay and that it was just that. Also, on his webpage he has a pic of him and a girl. it's a recent pic, but i don't know how recent. Do I assume that he is with her. I don't think he is the type to cheat. He did tell me that they were on again off again. Do I assume that maybe he wants to start over from 3yrs ago. He also made comments to me today. That if I would have stayed 3yrs ago that maybe I'd be living in algiers (where he lives) right now. He also said something about him not being ready for kids.wat 2 do? what do I do? I also sent him an email a few days ago. Telling him my feelings and asking to talk to me. I feel like there is something going on in his mind. Could he be thinking that I may do the same thing that I did 3 yrs ago and that is preventing him from wanting to receive serious with me? How do I make him understand that I won't make that mistake again? How blunt should I be with him? Should I just tell myself that the balls in his court now and wait til he makes the next move? I am willing to just about anything for him. Also, I wish he would have talked to me 3yrs ago and demanded that I stayed with him. I went for a more extreme version of him except that I included drugs and alcohol. He doesn't do drugs and drinks socially. He's also a detective and that takes alot of his time. What to do? I've sent him emails which I know he's read and not just simply deleted. I've not gotten a answer back to anything. Do you think that maybe he is afraid that the same thing that happened 3 yrs ago will happen again? What do I need to do now? HELP!!!

Resolved Question: Christians: I'm confused - what was America founded on? Christianity and the Bible...right?
Well, I was reading some United States historical documents and found this. It's the treaty of Tripoli which was agreed upon by most of the founding fathers, including George Washington. -Treaty signed at Tripoli November 4, 1796, and at Algiers January 3, 1797 -Senate advice and consent to ratification June 7, 1797 -Ratified by the President of the United States June 10, 1797 -Entered into force June 10, 1797 -Proclaimed by the President of the United States June 10, 1797 -Superseded April 17, 1806, by treaty of June, 4, 180518 Stat. 154; Treaty Series 3582 Article 11 says: As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,4 - as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen, - and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries. So, Christians. Can you explain to me why you say the USA is founded on Christianity, the Bible, and Christian morals when the founding fathers said the exact opposite? My creators are my parents. They created me. (thanks to the atheists for that line)

Resolved Question: Wouldn't the death sentence be more realistic?? He did "kill" the officers chance for a happy life!!
An Orleans Parish judge today sentenced a 25-year-old Algiers man to a century in prison for trying to murder New Orleans police officer Andres Gonzalez nine months after Hurricane Katrina A jury found Eddie Harrison III guilty of attempting to murder Gonzalez, who was left a quadriplegic from the run-in. Prosecutors Greg Thompson and Rhonda Goode-Douglas asked Criminal Court Judge Julian Parker to give Harrison the maximum penalty as a repeat offender in Louisiana: 50 to 100 years. After delivering a searing lecture to Harrison, Parker handed down the sentence, calling it an even trade for the fate Harrison sentenced Gonzalez to that fateful day. "He was willing to battle you hand-to-hand like a man," Parker told Harrison, who appeared in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs. "But you chose to try to kill him. You have sentenced him to a life sentence in a wheelchair. He can't give his parents grandchildren....He's going to be sentenced to life at home watching television with his mom and dad, who will help him use the bathroom. every because of you. every because of you." Parker said that every Gonzalez ever wanted to be was a cop, and that every Harrison wanted to be was a thief, landing in court at age 15 on charges of armed robbery. He was tried as an adult and pleaded guilty, receiving a minimal sentence, Parker noted. For that crime, a Jefferson Parish judge on May 10, 1999, gave Harrison five years -- a second chance, Parker surmised. But instead of changing his ways, Harrison only learned "how to be a better criminal." Gonzalez, dressed in his black NOPD uniform, delivered a brief yet succinct victim's impact statement to the court before the sentencing. "The defendant has no remorse and he is not sorry for his actions," Gonzalez read, seated in his motorized wheelchair. His black leather NOPD jacket hung from the back of the seat. He listed the surgeries he has had - for facial reconstruction, his bladder, and his teeth. Most of the right side of his face is now made of titanium. He has been going to physical therapy three times a week since June 2006. "How many other people have to receive hurt or who are hurt that we don't know about?" Gonzalez asked. "This is the career I always wanted and now it's gone. I'll never walk again. I'll never work again. You should never walk free again." First-degree murder carries either mandatory life in prison or death by lethal injection upon conviction, Gonzalez noted. "Do not reward him with a lesser sentence for not being successful," Gonzalez said. "Since he didn't finish the job off. Why should he be free if he just didn't finish the job he started? That's every I have." Attempted murder carries 10 to 50 years in prison for a first offender. But Harrison has a prior armed robbery conviction -- which doubled the possible punishment. After a four-day trial that included 23 state witnesses and 123 exhibits, a jury found Harrison guilty of the attempted first-degree murder of a police officer. The verdict was unanimous, although only ten of the 12 jurors needed to agree in order to render a legal verdict. On the afternoon of May 22, 2006, Harrison surprised officer Andres Gonzalez during a foot chase in Algiers Point when he stuck a .40-caliber gun in the young officer's face, according to testimony. What began with a routine traffic cease when Gonzalez and his partner noticed a car with illegally tinted black windows ended with a police officer trying not to choke on his possess blood as he lay on the pavement. "In every likelihood, he saved someone else," Police Superintendent Warren Riley said after the verdict. Harrison shot Gonzalez four times with the gun that he ditched before his arrest the same day, prosecutors said. The first bullet severed Gonzalez's spinal cord, instantly paralyzing him. Another went into his face and exited the back of his skull. A third shot struck the bullet-proof vest that covered the officer's abdomen. The fourth was yet another attempt to end his life, Assistant District Attorney Rhonda Goode-Douglas said. "Eddie Harrison wanted to make sure that Officer Gonzalez couldn't radio for help," Goode-Douglas said. "He shot into his police radio. That is specific intent to kill

What nice of movies do you wish would receive made in Hollywood?I've got a few ideas,I wish some people who are filmmakers would read this and try to receive them made. They could make a movie about the tardy Reverrend Jim Jones and the tragedy of Jonestown,Leonardo Dicaprio would be good in the role of Jim Jones. A Great Big Long Historical Epic about the Life of Leon Trotsky,if they make it people will look. They really need to make more war movies, why they don't I really don't know why. They could do a remake of "The Battle Of Algiers" only call it "The Battle of Iraq" instead and make the americans the Bad Guys, that I would pay money to look. I wish they would make a movie about Girl Gangs, this is a growing thing, they really do excist, they should make it with mexicans and mad white girls to make it realistic. Resolved Question: BIRTHMOM, WHERE ARE YOU? I was born November, 1949, LaRocca's Hospital in Algiers, Louisiana.?
I am 58 years old and always thought my birthday was November 9, 1949, but now I'm not sure. I know that sometimes dates were changed in adoptions. I don't think I was legally adopted. I think Dr. LaRocca just gave me to my Mama and Daddy. My birthmother supposedly had a family who didn't want her to keep me. I was told by a cousin that her family made her give me up. I am not mad and never felt abandoned, and I only discovered on April 12th, 2007, that I had been adopted. Well, not really adopted, but given to my parents. I want to find any birth family I may have, and I want to know my medical background and my heritage.
